56 years ago today, experiments conducted at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center provided the first experimental evidence of the existence of quarks.
48 years ago today, the discovery of the bottom quark provided further support for the quark theory.
30 years ago today, the top quark, the last of the six quarks in the standard model, was discovered at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory.
12 years ago today, recognizing the importance of quarks in the understanding of matter, the first World Quark Day was celebrated.
