96 years ago today, Walter Diemer invents the first successful bubble gum, named "Dubble Bubble".
45 years ago today, The FDA approves the use of the artificial sweetener, aspartame, leading to sugar-free gum products.
20 years ago today, National Chewing Gum Day is celebrated for the first time on September 30.
