Sometimes I wonder whether what I am today is already enough.

No grand things happening in my life. I just keep on doing the same thing repeatedly every day. Not that I don’t think I cannot do something greater than what I am today. But lately I’ve been wondering if I am content or if I just simply stopped growing.

Everyday feels too ordinary that I can’t help but think what if I am missing out on the things I know I could do but chose not to.

Well for example, I have been thinking of trying to change the color of my hair. And every single time I thought about it I would somehow think that what if it does not suit me?

There’s nothing wrong with my hair. In fact, I like every bit of it. But I haven’t tried doing anything about it.

I can’t also help but relate this to my writing experience. Sometimes I am discouraged to write because it might not be extraordinary enough or it might not be well received.

And I realized what if I am holding back myself from trying things just because I am afraid of the outcome not because I don’t want to change.

Maybe I should try dyeing my hair for once. Or maybe write something simple and publish it.

Maybe I wouldn’t like it and regret the result.

Or maybe I would love it.

And maybe it’s not about being mediocre at all, maybe it’s about being content of what you are but also allowing yourself to try something new.

Or maybe... I don't know.... I am still figuring things out.

An acquaintance of mine from Mexico told me a lot that there would always be time to improve oneself, he never stopped doing it, he learned economics and languages, at 45 he lives in luxury thanks to the fact that he never stopped improving himself.

oh wow that's great i wish i have his enthusiasm. I bet he's fun to be with, you'll learn a lot.

Maybe — the word that doesn't stand out for the 100% of anything! Actually doing things make the results. I know many of the people try hiding their creative parts. They veil them behind the "Maybe it will devalue me, maybe it will be an insult or maybe it will bring unfavorable results". But do you wonder how writers and stylish people got enough values? Just because they didn't think of "maybe the results will defame me" but thought of their audience who will appreciate their writings, and their true friends who will gladly accept in whatsoever colour you will come with!
I have heard a nice quotation, "when an artist makes a mistake, that is a new art!"
Mistakes happen or they are caused just by the eyes seeing them!
As a line from the poem of John Keats "Beauty Lies In The Eyes Of The Beholder!" So let the things be done by you! And let the results shock you and your friends!

Good wishes ❤️

I think being content and being stuck feel the same from the inside, which is why it's confusing. For me the difference is whether you still try small new things sometimes. Honestly, dye the hair. Worst case it grows out, and at least you'll know.
