It’s not just any other Thursday, nor the usual Christmas day I had before. I woke up, and everything happened so fast, like the blur of a bullet train. The smell of the candle brought back a flood of lingering memories, each one replaying like a scene from a movie.

I stared at the cramped ceiling of the room my sister and I have shared for years, the usual view where I’ve spent every holiday for years, never missing one. I felt the familiar cold of a December morning. The entire house was calm, quieter than usual, as if something had been set free.

A gentle whisper of wind brushed past me, something raw yet warm at the same time. It felt as if something I’d known for years had finally found its way. Someone I adored and loved for years was floating through the rainbows, unreachable, going further and further.

I felt nothing but peace, more than the unsettledness I expected. The memories weren’t heavy; instead, they floated like bubbles I’d played with under the sunlight, shining until they faded, drifting away from the horizon.

I came to realize that every journey doesn’t loop endlessly through infinity; it will find its way out when the time is right.

I knew for sure, Christmas would never be the same again. 🖤
