Road safety means to use the roads, by taking care of ourselves and others. Roads are built for the benefits of people. People move on these roads on vehicles, like motorcycles and cars.
There are also some public vehicles like rickshaws, taxies and buses. The pick-ups small trucks and heavy trucks also use the roads for transportation of materials.
There are turnings, roundabouts, service roads, overhead bridges, fly overs and under-passes on roads. There are also single controlled crossings. Some of the crossing are controlled by traffic police as well.
There are road safety rules in every country. These may differ in some countries, but the only objective is to make the roads safer. If you are on the road on foot or driving a vehicle and you know the rules, you not only save yourself but others as well.

- Always walk on foot-paths.
- If there is no foot-path, walk to extreme right facing the oncoming traffic.
- Be alert and keep your eyes open specially in blind corners.
- If you want to cross the road, look at your right and then left, if all is clear then cross the road carefully.
- Use zebra-crossing or overhead bridges to cross the roads.
- Do not cross diagonally, cross at right angle quickly but carefully.
- Do not get on or get off a public vehicles, while it is moving, or is not at a regular stop.
