WHO LOVES NICKELODEON SHOWS?
Nickelodeon Anniversary Celebration Day is observed in the U.S. on April 1. The day commemorates the launch of America’s first cable channel for children. It celebrates the heroes, villains, sponges and starfish, and cats and dogs who redefined children’s programming in the 1990s and beyond.
Although Nickelodeon Anniversary Celebration Day was created officially in 2021, the network has been thrilling fans with nostalgic episodes of their favorite characters since 1979.
on 1979, Nickelodeon launches its first children-centered show on the Warner Cable Network. It's first show, “Pinwheel,” was conceived by Vivian Horner and aired on April 1, 1979, to a new audience across the country and later on the network created various sister channels and specialized programming blocks throughout Nickelodeon’s history.
