Love and Deception

PS: Beta (parents use to call Beta in Urdu language that means "child" and "dear") and Ammi (refer to "Mother" in Urdu}

Zara had three thousand followers, a phone full of chat messages, and still, most nights, she felt completely alone.

She scrolled through her contacts one evening, looking for someone to call. A friend from college, gone quiet after she stopped being "useful" for group projects. A boyfriend from two years back, who said he loved her right up until things got a little difficult. Coworkers who laughed with her at lunch but never once asked how she was really doing. Every name felt close on the screen and distant in real life.

Then her phone rang. Her mother.

"Beta, did you eat dinner?" her mother asked, the same question she'd asked almost every night for twenty-five years.

"Not yet, Ammi," Zara admitted.

"Then eat something now, don't sleep hungry," her mother said, and just like that, spent the next ten minutes worrying about a meal Zara hadn't even had yet.

Zara sat there quietly, phone against her ear, and something in her chest loosened a little. Nobody else called just to ask if she'd eaten. Nobody else worried about her sleep, her health, her small daily habits, with no reason behind it except that she existed and she was theirs.

She thought about all the love she'd chased in the world outside her home — love that came with conditions, love that left the moment things got hard, love that always seemed to want something back in return. And here was her mother, still calling every single night, still worrying over dinner, never once asking for anything except to know her daughter was okay.

"I love you, Ammi," Zara said suddenly, quietly.

Her mother laughed softly. "I know, beta. Now go eat."

Zara hung up, made herself some food, and sat by the window a while longer. The world outside felt as lonely as ever. But somewhere in a small house across the city, someone was still awake, still worrying about her, still loving her without asking for anything at all.

That, she thought, might be the only love left untouched by the world.

The End

General Talk

Parents love stands for its purity in this tiny and dirty world. Everyone is behind purposes: the purpose of fake relationship, the purpose of money, the purpose of vanishing their loneliness and later leaving you lonely, the purpose of greed, the purpose of a chance to win better than you and later forget your worth, and the purpose of selfishness. How coolly they deceive those who remain intake to face their problems and create ease. Later they are left to suffer in every aspect they were not suppose to.
Remember, love and trust are priceless, never build doubts in between you and the other regarding love and trust. once they break, there is low chance for both to rejoice into their perfect form again.
