Best friend as a teacher in Windice best lesson in my life

I am your good friend, Alex. I hope you are all doing well. I am here once again with a new thread, and I hope you enjoy it. As you know, I have been using Windice for nearly four years; while many things have come and gone, I have developed a unique bond and affection for Windice—a connection that is incredibly hard to walk away from. My time here has been a journey of both learning and teaching, but one particular person played a pivotal role—someone I am about to talk about. I gained so much here: the love and sincerity of others, the importance of following rules and respecting authority. Yet, the most significant impact came from an individual who taught me things I hadn't known before. I won't mention his name, but his role in my life was truly significant.In the beginning, I didn't know much; I mostly just chatted using a few specific words I had been taught. My English proficiency was very limited. A few months passed this way until I met someone in the chat and struck up a friendship. As we continued talking daily, I made other friends too, but those connections were merely self-serving; they didn't last long because those people would trick others into giving away tips and trivia. When they tried to fool the friend I had made, I cut ties with them and warned my friend not to share tips, explaining that they were just playing us. That incident actually deepened my bond with my friend; we began talking for extended periods every day, and he started teaching me things I hadn't known before.We maintained our friendship like this for several months, sharing laughs and enjoying our time on Windice; we were fast approaching our one-year anniversary. That was when those same people returned, trying to bring me down, but I stood my ground. I also had my friend’s support—he wouldn't let me fall. They tried hard but failed, and eventually, they stopped showing up. Meanwhile, my English improved significantly as our friendship deepened. I used to tease him for hours—since he didn't know Urdu and I didn't know English—but that dynamic led him to start teaching me the language. At first, I struggled to understand or speak it, but he guided me through everything—what to say in specific situations and how to grasp the meaning of words—and that is how I reached the level I am at today.I became the kind of Alex who can understand others and help them understand things, all because that friend stood by me whenever I needed him. He never took offense at how I constantly pestered him until I reached this level of proficiency. I am deeply grateful to him for helping me achieve this, as he taught me skills I didn't possess before. Sometimes I even call him "Ustad-ji" (Teacher), which makes him laugh; I ask, "Sir, what is there to laugh about?" Even now, if I am discussing something like Windice with someone, he will later point out the right way to do it. I am truly indebted to this friend and mentor for teaching me so much.Do you have a friend like that in your life?
