I'll start with this phrase I heard a few years ago that has stuck in my memory: ❇️ Life is made up of small moments, and moment by moment life slips away from us ❇️

The year is almost over... one more year, one less year... as they say in my city. We look back and we've been through a lot, some good, some not so good, but everything helps us grow stronger. Experience allows us to learn and improve, of course!!!, if we're willing to reflect on the past and if we want to take advantage of the difficulties we face.
We all have different life routines; some barely have time to rest, others are forced by circumstances to overexert themselves to achieve a specific goal, or simply to have a slightly calmer future and some peace, a moment to relax and enjoy some time for themselves.

When we look back on the past, we say to ourselves, "How quickly time has passed," or, "How quickly the year went by." This is typical of us; in our minds, the past consists of moments, memories, experiences that lasted only a few seconds. Our brains can't assimilate or grasp the duration of those experiences. We have images, sensations, and smells from those memories etched in our minds, but we can't recreate everything that happened in those moments.
We cling to those memories so as not to forget our existence; everything we have lived, everything we have felt, is our essence, what defines our lives. Decisions made, some wrong, which we later regret, but powerless to change. Other decisions we are proud of, some achievement, a dream fulfilled through our effort and the actions we took to achieve it. And also the decisions that life practically forces us to make, by the whim of fate...

Looking back, we realize that every word we said, every gesture we made, every action, even the most gentle glance, has an impact on what happened later. Some are wise and patient, choosing their words carefully, thinking twice before acting, listening before taking action. These cautious people tend to experience fewer hardships. Others, like me, are more impulsive, saying what comes to mind in the moment, without considering the consequences or the potential for good or bad in the future. We don't do this because we're bad people; we're simply not focused on what's happening around us and how it might affect others. We act without thinking things through, but without malice or wanting to hurt anyone.

Even so, I'm sure many would like to go back in time and change something they now see as something that could have been different if they had reacted differently; the most subtle change in a decision can shape our future...

We are all different, and even though some people are very similar, they still have things that differentiate them. This is because we have all had different lives, different situations, lifestyles that shape us, the environment that surrounds us, etc...

We don't usually think about it until we stop for a moment and remember: time is what governs everything—our lives, the life of everything. Subconsciously, we're always thinking about time; we're governed by schedules, we're measuring time for everything: at work, at home, when we go out, for tasks or moments we've planned for something specific. At times, we're not aware of the passage of time until that moment has passed, and the first thing we do is look at how much time we spent on it; we realize how much of our lives we're wasting on it.

When we concentrate on different tasks, we lose track of time, but once that task is finished, or simply a moment of distraction, we look at the time that has passed.

We often wish we had time for everything we need to do, for everything we want to achieve in our lives; we wish we had the time to be happy and make our loved ones happy... And time slips away, time waits for no one, nothing can control it...

I'm one of those who believe that in life you have to have priorities, make sacrifices, live in the moment when it comes, without dwelling too much on what might happen later. Don't regret the decisions you've made because that time is gone forever. Always look ahead, in tune with time, because it doesn't stop. If you want to achieve something, fight for it; if you want to build something, strive for it; if you want to be happy, live your life the way you want... always without harming others. Live your life to the fullest, try what you can because that time is gone forever. If you make a mistake... well, take note, reflect, and move on. If you don't try, you'll never know if it is or isn't what you were looking for.

Life is a clock, life is time, use it wisely!

This is such a good and reflective piece. Years ago, I realized that everything moves forward in its own time—it never pauses and never will, no matter how badly I wanted to. Every decision belongs to the past, and no matter how much we look back, we can’t undo it. You’re right—we may wish we could, but all we can really do is learn from it and keep going. 💕

PS. I wish I have the power of the guy in the movie-- About Time (2013). I just had to mention it because it relates to this piece.

And yes, my friend, time rules everything. I'll look for the movie later and watch it. Thank you for your words
