Hi there.

I was looking for the Forum rules thread, and I found it already. But I believe it is outdated, having not been updated in the past two years. So, I have a suggestion about it.

The current forum rules say this;

  1. No off-topic posts.
  2. No begging.
  3. Discussions in the main boards must be in English. All other language discussions should be posted in the appropriate Local board.
  4. No linking to illegal trading sites.
  5. No referral code (ref link) spam.
  6. Posting multiple posts in a row (excluding bumps and reserved posts by the thread starter) is not allowed.
  7. No multi-accounts are allowed.

1. As you know, people copy-paste a lot. I could write hundreds of posts each day if there were no plagiarism rules. So, it would be good if the moderators added Plagiarism rules that forbid copy-pasting.

2. AI usage has increased significantly in the last two years. People can quickly write essays with a few commands, and I am sure the forum does not need AI-generated content. We don't want AI to take over where humans discuss. So, this could be another rule.

Moreover, I see some forum sections are flooded with advertisements. I believe this should not be allowed. Even if allowed, that should be in a specific forum board.

Cheers
LB.

The one you saw is posted long time ago and it says UNOFFICIAL in the title itself which means it's not the over-all rules of Windice forum. But if you see in windice forum TERMS, it clearly states something about copy-pasting.

Also, I was told and I also believe there were threads posted here saying it is fine to copy paste an article, thread or any post from the original author as long as; you do not pretend you are the original author of the post, you put your own insight or thoughts about the post you share and you give credits to the original author of the post, thread or article and include links from the source.

For the AI, I hope you understand not everyone is fluent in English and not everyone is knowledgeable enough in writing a content using English language. Just because other posters here use AI it doesn't always mean their whole post is AI generated only. Others need AI like ChatGPT to help translate their whole original post into English or any other language they wish it to be translated into.

I myself use that copy pasting and use AI like chatGPT I admit that is why I am bothered with this post you made. But atleast, I always include the source link whenever I copy paste articles I see online and add my insights and thoughts. For AI like chatGPT, at least its not purely made by AI. It's always a combination of the two. 75-85% of the post is always mine and the remaining % is from chatGPT. I also have 2- 3 threads here which I wrote using my own language and I have used Chat GPT for it to be translated into English.
Pretty sure others are doing this technique too.

If you are able to write a lot of threads without using AI and the copy-pasting stuffs and whatever it is you find inconsiderable or should be avoided etc, good job for you. But please be considerate enough for others who only wanted to give entertainment and share some interesting facts, or news, and everything they have but needs to use AI and the copy pasting. As long as the mods and Admins dont see anything wrong with the posts, I believe it's totally fine. Do not be bothered enough.

Happy holidays to you.

Yeah. It is standard in every forum that if you copy an article from somewhere, you have to write the source link in your post so you do not appear to be the author of that post. I am a forum freak and mostly write on the BitcoinTalk and Altcointalks forums, where the usual rule is that if you ever copy something from the internet, you must provide the source link. The Bitcointalk forum has a thread with similar unofficial rules. They never say this is official, but that is the rule.

About AI, copy-pasting and writing with the help of AI are the same thing. AI writing is not considered the original writing of an author. If you check most websites, you will notice they do not accept AI articles. If someone is not good at English, they should use local sections of the forum. Even if they write in broken English, it is original content.

Imagine AI replying to AI ;)

How about you just be considerate with others just like what charorowtzxd said. Simple as that.

Sorry, I didn't get it. Would you mind explaining a little more? FYI, I actually agreed with the first part of his posts and I disagree about AI. I would love to see a healthy criticism of my point of view. I am not someone who can change the rules; I just share my opinion and point of view. If you have some against it, you are welcome share yours.

Her explanation about using AI is very clear. She stated that others who use AI like chat GPT are not really good in English that is why they need to use tools like this not just for correcting their grammar but to help translate the post THEY ORIGINALLY MADE using their own language into English. They are doing this so others can understand their post and the message they are trying to convey.

Do not make this a big issue.
If they use AI, let them.

Be. More understanding. If you feel you can write multiple threads without even a single help from these AI tools then that is nice. But again, be considerate with others.

Besides, if this has something to do with the monthly poster contest that is why you made this thread, it's always about who posted the most entertaining and informative topic WITH OR WITHOUT using AI tools and copy pasting.

I got you.
As I said in my previous post, I cannot decide what should be allowed and what should not be allowed. I am just a general forum member who shared his own point of view about AI usage. As long as the forum rules allow users to use AI, they can use it. But I felt it should not be allowed, which is why I am here with this thread. I am not here to debate; it's just a suggestion.

However, if someone uses AI to fix their grammar and translate, I don't think there is any issue with that. But mostly people use AI to write essays and articles which they claims as their own. Anyways, as I said, it was just my opinion. I appreciate your feedback about it.
