Ahhh last day of April.
April 30th. The last day of the month.
When we wake up from our deep sleep tonight, a new month will greet us again.
A new chapter. A new fight.
A new set of challenges as we continue moving forward in life.
But let me ask you something…
How are you, really?
Are you still breathing okay?
How’s your wallet—barely alive or still holding on?
How are your stats? Still green? Turning yellow? Or already deep red… maybe even black?
Kidding aside!!
Today, I want to share a real story about some friend of mine here in Windice. Well she is not that active here, matter of fact she visit this casino very rarely as she is more into slot games offered by these local casinos we have here. And yes, she is a Filipina like me. She might not seem familiar to you guys but I am pretty sure some of you have already seen and interacted with her a few number of times.
we’ll call her Yel.
Note though, Yel agreed to have her story shared here. I have her full consent.
And I'm sharing her story not put her to shame, not to make fun of her but simply to use her story as reflection. To serve as a reminder to us all that self control is very essential. To give us an important lesson that greed can be our worst enemy if we keep giving in to it.
So Yel, just like all other moms,
Is a single mom, of two.
She is a very hardworking mom. She will turn nights into days and would also sacrifice her own health, skipping meals and getting very short rest time. Just to make sure she have enough money to live for each day, able to buy things needed for her children.
But there is one problem.
Like us all here in Windice, she is a gambler
She wasn’t a gambler before. Not at all.
It all started when she got introduced to crypto casinos. At first, she had control. She played casually, carefully. Then came the influence of online friends who encouraged her to try slot games.
At first, she was hesitant. She didn’t fully understand how the games worked.
But then… she started winning.
And not just once—but repeatedly.
Those early wins changed everything.
She became more drawn to slot games, especially those that triggered exciting features and big payouts. Her deposits slowly grew bigger. What used to be occasional play became frequent.
And here’s the truth many don’t talk about:
Sometimes, she would win back everything she lost, and even more.
But other times, her losses were far bigger than her wins—daily, weekly, monthly.
Still… she didn’t stop.
Because every loss came with a belief:
“I can win it back anytime.”
Until one day…
that belief pushed her into something deeper.
She started taking out loans, just to keep playing.
Fast forward.........
Yel tried to step away.
She switched to free games—no betting, no risk.
She thought she had escaped.
But addiction doesn’t always disappear… sometimes, it just waits.
After a few months, the craving came back.
So she tried again.
BOOM! she got lucky.
She made a total profit of $300.
She told herself:
“This is it. I’ll stop after this win.”
But greed whispered something else:
“What if you can make more?”
So she gave in to that temptation.
Greed successfully pushed her to the pit.
And so she played again...
And again.... And again.....
At first, she was still winning.
But deep inside, she already knew—
the game would take it back eventually.
And so it did.
Something already and repeatedly told her to stop or she will lose everything she have. But she never listened. She ignored the fear she kept feeling and all warning signs, and instead, continuously listened to that voice telling her "bet more.... More.... More....
You will soon get it.. Just a little roll more"
Her greed and emotions finally made full control of her. Successfully defeated her.
Loss after loss.
Day after day.
Her stats turned completely red.
She lost everything in her wallet.
But even that wasn’t enough to stop her.
She risked not only her winnings…
but also the money meant for her bills—
rent, electricity, water.
Because she believed…
“Maybe one big win will fix everything.”
But that win never came.
In just a few hours, everything she had built—
days, weeks, even months of effort—
All gone. All because of greed and lack of self- control.
Now, she’s left asking herself where to find money for her responsibilities.
But this time… something changed.
She made a promise:
No more.
Enough is enough.
No more chasing losses.
No more risking everything for a “chance.”
Yes, the realization came late.
But it came with something valuable—
a lesson she will never ever forget.
Life Lessons from Yel’s Story
• When your inner voice tells you to stop—listen.
• Not every win is a blessing; sometimes it’s a trap.
• The more you chase money, the more it runs away from you.
• In gambling, it’s never always your turn. Luck changes without warning.
• And most importantly: Greed will betray you faster than any loss ever will.
Because in the casino… it’s not always Christmas.
The luck you have today can disappear tomorrow.
And if you’re not careful—
you won’t just lose money.
You might lose everything that truly matters, even your own self.
I hope this will serve as an important lesson to us all always.
And to you my dear friend, Yel, thank you so much for allowing me to share your story here.
I sincerely wish you healing and recovery from all your loses. And that you successfully fight over that negative part of you (the greedy side).
I wish you all successful Month of May ahead.
