No one waits for the boy who has nothing Every morning started the same way Wake up get ready leave the house and act like everything was normal Nobody knew what was happening behind the walls of my home and honestly nobody asked
Some days there wasn't enough money Other days there wasn't enough peace
I watched people judge my clothes, my silence and my background They thought they knew me because they saw me for a few minutes They never saw the nights when electricity disappeared the arguments at home or the dreams that had to be postponed because survival came first Friends changed Some found better company Some remembered me only when they needed something I stopped explaining myself because people only believe the part of the story they want to hear While others were enjoying life I was learning responsibilities that were never meant for someone my age Birthdays became ordinary days Festivals became reminders of what we couldn't afford.
Dreams became "maybe someday."
The funny thing is... nobody called me weak Because I never gave them the chance I learned how to smile at people I didn't trust I learned how to stay quiet when I wanted to speak I learned how to walk alone because waiting for someone only wastes time
Life didn't make me cold
It made me careful*
Now when people ask me why I don't easily trust anyone why I don't expect much from people or why I stay silent most of the time...
I just smile.
Because some stories are too heavy to explain and some battles leave scars that no one can see
Maybe the world never noticed that boy.
But one day...
It will know the man he became
