Drawing is not always something that everyone is good at, and when I was little, I only knew how to make scribbles, haha.
However, I always had a certain inclination towards drawing. I started taking it a bit more seriously between the ages of 12 and 13, always trying to copy characters from video games like Mortal Kombat, among others. At first, it was difficult for me, but I always insisted on trying to do my best.
By the ages of 16 to 18, I was drawing a bit better but still without any foundation, simply looking for images of video game characters and even anime characters. At that age, I started watching Japanese anime, which I liked a lot. Still, I was far from being able to create something from scratch.
Once I finished high school, and now with a bit of internet access, I set out to search for manuals and books that would teach me from the basics, practicing every day and dedicating many hours, getting frustrated each time, haha. I'm a perfectionist and I never felt satisfied when a drawing turned out wrong; I always found tons of flaws. However, I never gave up on practicing and improving. I was away from drawing for several years for various reasons. I couldnât find quality paper (very rare here in Cuba; you could say it's almost non-existent, and if you do find it, the prices are absurd). The pencils were another problem because I couldnât find quality ones either; I always used the same ones, haha.
Additionally, personal problems at home left me with no time to even take a couple of hours to doodle, haha. In the last few months here on Windice, I was influenced by the drawings of Ratamia, a friend from the Spanish room who draws very well. When I mentioned to him that I used to draw, he urged me to pick it up again. In the end, I had the opportunity to buy some paper and simple pencils, and I decided to try after more than 5 years without drawing anything. I didnât really know what I was going to draw, and since I love anime, haha, even though I am now 33, I decided to make an anime-style drawing. I must say it was very challenging for me, logically, after such a long time without picking up a pencil, as my strokes werenât coming out right; the lines and everything else were very clumsy. When I finished, I found many, many beginner mistakes, and I was about to discard it... But I understood that it made sense for it to come out like that because after so many years of not practicing, my hands had forgotten how to make a simple line.
Hereâs the drawing I made after many years without picking up a pencil; I hope you like it and please donât criticize the thousands of mistakes it has, haha. Understand that many years without practice have left me out of shape. In the future, I will strive to create something much better to show you. Thanks to everyone who has supported me and liked my drawing.
Dibujar no siempre se nos da bien a todos, y de pequeño solo sabĂa hacer garabatos jajajaja, pero siempre tuve cierta inclinaciĂłn hacia el dibujo, comencĂ© a tomarme un poco mĂĄs enserio el dibujo entre los 12 y 13 años, siempre tratando de copiar los personajes de videojuegos como Mortal Kombat entre otros,.
Al principio me costaba pero siempre me empeñé en tratar de hacerlo lo mejor posible, ya entre los 16 y los 18 años, dibujaba un poquito mejor pero aĂșn sin base, simplemente buscando imĂĄgenes de personajes de videojuegos e incluso personajes de anime, a esa edad empecĂ© a ver anime japonĂ©s y me gustaba mucho, aĂșn asĂ lejos de poder crear algo desde 0.
Una vez terminĂ© la preparatoria, y ya con un poco de acceso a internet me dispuse a buscar manuales y libros que me enseñaran desde lo bĂĄsico y fui practicando todos los dĂas, dedicando muchas horas y frustrandome cada vez jajajaja.
Soy perfeccionista y no me quedo conforme cuando algĂșn dibujo me salĂa mal al terminar siempre le encontraba defectos a montones, pero nunca desistiendo de practicar y mejorar.
Estuve unos años alejado de los dibujos por varios motivos, no encontraba papel de calidad (muy raro aquĂ en Cuba, se podrĂa decir que casi no aparece y si se encuentra, es con precios absurdos) los lĂĄpices tambiĂ©n fueron otro problema porque tampoco encontraba lĂĄpices de calidad, siempre use los mismos jajajaja, ademĂĄs problemas personales en casa que me dejaban sin tiempo para aunque sea tomarme un par de horas y hacer garabatos jajajaja, en los Ășltimos meses aquĂ en windice me vĂ influenciado por los dibujos de Ratamia, amigo de la sala español y que dibuja muy bien, cuando le mencionĂ© que yo antes dibujaba el me insto a que retomara el dibujo, y al final tuve la oportunidad de poder comprar algo de papel y unos lĂĄpices sencillos y me decidĂ a probar despuĂ©s de mĂĄs de 5 años sin dibujar nada, no sabĂa realmente que iba a dibujar, y como me gusta tanto el anime jjj a pesar de tener ya 33 años, decidĂ hacer un dibujo estilo anime, debo decir que me costĂł muchĂsimo, lĂłgico despuĂ©s de tanto tiempo sin tomar un lĂĄpiz en la mano, los trazos no me salĂan, las lĂneas y demĂĄs todo muy torpe, a mi mirada cuando finalicĂ©, pues le encontrĂ© muchos muchos errores de principiante, y estuve a punto de desecharlo... Pero entendĂ que era lĂłgico que me saliera asĂ porque muchos años sin practicar el dibujo ya mis manos habĂan olvidado de hacer una simple lĂnea.
Aquà les dejo el dibujo que hice después de muchos años sin tomar un låpiz en la mano, espero que les guste y no me critiquen los Miles de errores que tiene jajaja entiendan que muchos años sin practicar me ha dejado fuera de forma, mås adelante me esforzaré y haré algo mucho mejor y les mostraré.
