Looking back in the past
In a world we live in right now, where everything is just a tap or click away, from food, groceries, services, etc., delivered in minutes right in front of your doorsteps. Everything seems so easy and comfortable. But what does it take to have these comfort? A past pace living wherein everything is like a marathon.
A lot of us surely have experienced getting exhausted. Wanting to pause for a while and take a break. Not everyone has this opportunity, they need to move and go with the flow in order to survive.
Have you ever thought of going back in the past? Thinking how life is simple yet fulfilling. Times when you don't have to run, just walking slowly at your own pace. The past is a place we can never return to, yet we visit it constantly in our minds. Just like the old photos which reminds us with the earlier version of who we once were. Reflecting with those moments and the present. Seeing how we've changed.
Revisiting the past is an interpretation of memories, emotions and experiences. When we look back, we don't just see what happened but rather, we see what we've chosen to remember. Looking back is not always comfortable. The past holds both triumphs and mistakes, moments of clarity and moments of confusion. Reflection forces us to confront choices we wish we could revise, words we wish we could take back, and opportunities we didn’t see at the time. We get stuck in the “if only” and “what if.” But reflection is not meant to trap us, it is meant to make us moving forward. By understanding our missteps, we free ourselves from repeating them and living with no regrets.
Going back to the past is not about longing for a different time. It is about acknowledging the roots that make us who we are. Every memory is a thread of our identity. To trace those threads, to understand their colors and their knots, and to see how they weave into the present.
We cannot rewrite the past, but we can reinterpret it. And through reflection, the past becomes not a weight we carry, but a map we consult, a guide that helps us walk more consciously into the future, making us a better version of who we are.
