Father's Day traditions vary depending on the country and culture, but they all share the common goal of showing appreciation for fathers and father figures.

How did it originated: Sonora Smart Dodd established the first Father's Day in the state of Washington, United States, in 1910. After more than six decades, President Lyndon B. Johnson issued the first presidential proclamation honouring dads in 1966, designating the third Sunday in June as Father's Day.


How is it celebrated: Despite the fact that Father's Day is not a federal holiday, families meet to honour the father figures in their life. Father's Day gift-making activities are frequent in schools and other children's programmes.Some people also honour their fathers by giving them presents or spending quality time with them.

Japan - Common gifts include sake, shochu, fashion items, gourmet food, sports equipment, and sweets.
Australia - School crafts with handmade gifts and cards from younger children are common.
Brazil - They host a BBQ with all of dad's favorites is a common tradition.
