Some of you may know that in India, Diwali is the around the corner and will be celebrated on 24th October 2022, which is one of the largest celebrated festivals along with other festivals. Diwali last almost a week in some parts of the country and mostly celebrated during the Hindu lunisolar month Kartika which is generally (Oct-Nov). One of the most pious occasions, Diwali is celebrated not only in India but also in southern Asia and in different parts of the world by Hindus, Sikhs and Jains for a variety of reasons

Diwali Symbolizes the "victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance".

Why Diwali is celebrated? - Rama returned to his home Ayodhya with his wife Sita & Laxman after defeating the Ravana in Lanka and serving 14 years of exile. To mark the victory and also to celebrate Ram's homecoming after 14 years the villagers decorated the village with lights, diyas, Rangolis etc and from the festival of Diwali was originated. It goes back more than 2500 years ago.

Which God is worshipped during this festival? - Goddess Laxmi which is associated with Prosperity, Lord Ganesha associated with Wisdom and obstacle remover. Some of other god worshipped are Kuber, Hanuman, Dhanvantari.

What Diwali Signify? - The lights of Diwali signify a time to destroy all our dark desires and thoughts, eradicated dark shadows and evils and gives us the strength and the zeal to carry on with our goodwill for the rest of the year.

Usually to mark Diwali before a month preparations starts, where they clean their houses to welcome the God at their home, buy new clothes, lights their houses, prepare sweets and distribute to others and needy ones. Many visits their native places to celebrate this festivals. People visit their relatives and friends to wish them the best as well some sort of reunion. Different sweets are prepared in different states of the country and offered to God and Goddess during Diwali.

People also celebrate it via bursting firecrackers. It is also believed that the sound of firecrackers indicates the joy of the people living on earth indicating the Gods of our plentiful state Some villages hosts the fairs where local producers and artisans trade goods.
