Coco - amazing fairy tale for everyone!

Since yesterday I started watching with my girlfriend - Coco from Studio Disney. It is an animation fairy tale. A fairy tale about family, music and death.
The boy's name was Miguel, obviously a fictional character. This character went to the world of death to find his great-great-grandfather.
He died because of... why?
Why didn't Miguel give up to play the guitar?
