I wanted to share a few interesting facts about Ethereum with you .
1- Ethereum was supposed to have a different name:
Ethereum's cofounder Vitalik Buterin was planning to choose a different name for the project . but while browsing Wikipedia he found the word Ethereum and liked how it sounded so he decided to use it.
Yep... that's how random it was XD
Some of you probably already know this, but Vitalik was only 19 years old when he first came up with the idea of Ethereum .
Meanwhile I'm 21 and I am just here gambling and playing games
3- Ethereum is no longer mineable:
Unlike Bitcoin Ethereum can no longer be mined.
Mining officially ended in 2022 and one can mine new ETH anymore
in 2017 a bug in the Parity Wallet locked more than 513,000 ETH forever : /
Those coins are still inaccessible today . this is insane...
5- The $2 million transaction fee
Believe it or not there have been several cases where people accidentally paid millions of dollars just for fees because of software bugs or human mistakes. i don't even how it could happen FR .
At first I thought it was fake too but I found several reports about it.
Just imagine trying to send $100 to your friend... then checking your wallet and realizing you paid over $2 million in fees instead. don't worry guys we don't have 2 million to lose accidentally for fees XD
WTF... in the most literal way possible.
