In this modern world where social media is the main focus of everyone, especially the younger generation, it affects not only our social but our mental being.
Mental health is important because it affects every aspect of our lives. Just like physical health, mental health influences how we think, feel, and behave. It also plays a significant role in how we handle stress, relate to others, and make decisions.
Often times, we just neglect our feelings, trying to be tough and strong. We don't want to show our weakness or we don't want others to feel that we are week. It's completely okay not to be okay. We all go through rough patches or tough times, and it's important to allow yourself space to feel whatever you're feeling. It doesn't mean you're weak or failing, it just means you're human. If you ever need someone to talk to or just want to vent, find a friend or a family member whom you trust the most.
Sometimes, people may not openly talk about their thoughts. It’s important to check in with people who might be struggling. It can be our colleague, a friend or a family member. We may not know what their thoughts are, or what they're going through. Sometimes, a simple smile or a tap in the back can help, much more if you can be with them willing to listen. If you feel someone is going through a rough time, or something is going on in their mind, don't hesitate to talk to them. We may not know, that you are already saving a life.
It's ok not to be ok, and it's more ok to be more considerate and compassionate to others. It can change it save life.
