i've always been asking myself who did the first bet or gamble . who made it? what was the goal of it ? how did it start and how is it now? let's take a look at gambling history so we can answer our questions ....

Gambling is not a sudden invention or a limited thing to a specific culture or historical period. this human behavior , betting on the outcome of an event in hopes of winning , started with the formation of human societies. Over thousands of years, gambling has evolved: from simple dice games in ancient societies to formal casinos, and now to online and crypto platforms. let's take a look at the history ...

Ancient Times:
Thousands of years ago, people used simple objects like bones, stones, or pieces of wood to make dice and bet on them. Even back then, gambling was both fun and a way to test luck against skill.

Middle Ages to Renaissance:
Playing cards, which came from Asia, reached Europe in the Middle Ages and quickly became popular. These cards actually were the reason that classic games like poker and blackjack are invented. also in these ages gambling was sometimes banned in religious or political communities, nobles and royalty continued to enjoy it as a form of entertainment and hobby.

Early Modern Era:
By the 17th century, the first official gambling halls appeared in Europe, with cities like Venice. In the 19th century, large casinos in Western Europe , including famous places like Monte Carlo, and horse-racing betting became central social and economic hubs. Gambling also spread to America, where games like poker grew in popularity.

20th Century:
The 20th century turned gambling into a fully-fledged industry. Las Vegas, which developed in the early 1900s, became a symbol of big casinos, luxury hotels, and dazzling entertainment, especially after gambling became legal in some U.S. states.

Internet Era:
The 1990s brought the internet, and with it, a major shift in gambling. Online casinos and betting websites allowed millions of people to play from anywhere. Later, smartphones and apps made it even easier to access casinos.

Crypto and Blockchain:
The rise of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology created a whole new wave in gambling. almost all of platforms and online casinos now allow betting with cryptocurrencies. “Provably Fair” games use algorithms and cryptography so players can check that the results are truly fair.

Gambling is not something created by a specific person or community. Instead, it resembles an instinct. It's a mix of competition and hope that provides great entertainment for humans and releases a lot of dopamine in our brains. If not controlled, it can lead to negative consequences and become an addiction. So, gamble less and do it wisely :)
