Another new country has emerged in Europe. With a population of just 400 people, this country has its own flag, cabinet, and currency.
A 20-year-old man in Europe has announced the establishment of a new country, the second smallest in the world after Vatican City. It has a population of just 400 people and has its own flag, currency, passport and cabinet. The country has been named the “Free Republic of Verdes”.
According to the American newspaper New York Post, this country was discovered in 2019 by 20-year-old Australian Daniel Jackson in a place that was not previously administered by any other country.
After which the young man, along with 400 citizens known as Pocket Three, announced the establishment of a country called the “Free Republic of Verdes” in a 125-acre forest on the banks of the Danube River between Croatia and Serbia, and Daniel Jackson also declared himself the president of the country.
In addition to Croatian and Serbian, English is spoken and understood in this country.
It should be noted that the new country where it has been established is a disputed territory between the European countries Serbia and Croatia and access to it is only possible by boat from the Croatian city of Osijek.
On the other hand, in October 2023, Croatian police, upon announcing the creation of the country, arrested and deported Daniel Jackson and several settlers, declaring the new country a threat to national security, and also imposed a lifetime ban on them from entering the country.
Jackson said of the Croatian government's move that "they simply deported us without giving any reason, declaring us a threat to national security."
