I have to admit it: I've also been in “hot”. Yes, that state in which one feels unstoppable, motivated, with energy by clouds and ideas flowing as if you had an internal engine ha ha. Of those days where you get up wanting to eat the world, where everything seems to make sense and work does not weigh. That's where one feels that the dream is close, that you will achieve it, that there is no one to stop you.

But I have also known the other side: in "cold." That moment where everything that seemed possible today seems distant, absurd, or worse, useless. Cold, even the simplest tasks weigh as if you load a bag of stones. There is no desire, there is no spark, there is nothing. But the truth is that nobody is in "Fire" every day. Sometimes you simply freeze. That is the mistake we make: believe that only when there is motivation is valid to move. The real progress, the one that really transforms you, occurs when you move cold. When you would prefer to stay in bed. When you doubt you. There, right on that ice, it is where the resistance is cooked. Whatever you do cold, even if it is a small step, it is worth ten, so when I am hot, I do not miss it. Sometimes it's just sitting in front of the computer. Or write a single line. The important thing is not to be still, even if I feel frozen.

Accept that both states will come again and again. No one is always motivated. The one who understands this, stops frustrating so much and begins to work with what he has. It is not the most motivated or the most energetic. It is the one that, even in the coldest days, continues to advance even if it is crawling. And that is the real secret. The fire takes you fast, yes. But ice teaches you to resist.
